Ameren Corporation Goes Live with PCI GSMS Platform to Support Bid-to-Bill Workflow in MISO

Norman, OK – December 9, 2014 – Ameren Corporation, a Fortune 500 American energy company, successfully went live on September 19, 2014 with the Power Costs, Inc. As such, the implementation of the PCI GSMS covers all facets of Ameren’s front-office operations, including day-ahead and real-time bidding for generation, loads, virtual trades and bilateral transactions and portfolio optimization, as well as back-office solutions for pre-settlement, settlement, shadow settlement, allocations and reporting.

The following PCI modules are included in Ameren’s go-live implementation:

  • PCI GenManager: Bid-to-bill functions within MISO
  • PCI GenTrader: Generation portfolio optimization and fuel nomination
  • PCI GenPortal: Overall IT application platform and workflow automation
  • PCI Allocation: FERC book accounting requirements

PCI Project Manager Steve Terelmes reported, “The current PCI implementation provides Ameren a fully integrated software solution for both front- and back-office with interfaces to the MISO market and a strong IT foundation for integrated analytics, automation and data management within one platform across all business functions.”

“This is a critical project for Ameren with a very tight deadline,” said Jaime Haro, Sr. Director at Ameren. “PCI was able to work with the Ameren staff to complete the project on time.”
