Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. Selects PCI Energy Accounting Software
Norman, OK – August 13, 2012 – Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. (AECC) has selected Power Costs, Inc. (PCI) to supply advanced Energy Accounting software for its meter management requirements. The PCI Energy Accounting System will fully integrate with the PCI Generation Supply Management System that AECC recently selected to meet its bid-to-bill requirements in MISO and SPP (both the existing EIS market as well as the upcoming Integrated Marketplace). AECC has also purchased PCI’s Data Warehouse which will help facilitate its data repository and reporting requirements.
PCI Energy Accounting will allow AECC to calculate, track and account for all megawatts associated with power production, load consumption and energy flows in and out of their system. Among many areas of functionality, PCI Energy Accounting will also help AECC perform meter management and identify metering discrepancies, monitor operations by dispatchers and traders as well as perform checkouts and closing of the company books.
“AECC has been an excellent partner for PCI, and we are excited they have selected us once again for their Energy Accounting requirements,” said Jason Hebert, vice president of professional services and sales at PCI. “We look forward to implementing the software quickly and efficiently, as well as continuing to meet AECC’s software needs in the future.”
“AECC evaluated systems from a number of meter data management vendors,” said Robert H. McClanahan, vice president and chief information officer for AECC. “Other vendors could not identify with our needs. We then learned that PCI had developed an Energy Accounting (EA) solution at the request of several of their customers. When we sat down with the PCI team to discuss the EA solution, we were immediately impressed with how well PCI staff understood our needs.”
