Oklahoma Gas & Electric Selects PCI Software Systems for the upcoming SPP Integrated Marketplace
Norman, OK – August 20, 2012 – Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company (OG&E) has selected Power Costs, Inc. (PCI) to supply market operating software to support OG&E’s participation in the upcoming Southwest Power Pool (SPP) Integrated Marketplace. OG&E will deploy PCI GenManager SPP Integrated Marketplace for its turnkey bid-to-bill requirements, as well as the following complementary modules:
- ISO Communication – used for maintenance-free communication with the SPP API.
- ISO Settlements – used for downloading and verifying SPP invoices, data extracts and settlement statements.
- Shadow Settlements – used to independently verify SPP invoices and statements.
The addition of GenManager for the SPP Integrated Marketplace will seamlessly integrate with other PCI components that OG&E already uses such as PCI GenTrader and GenPortal. This allows OG&E to recognize a higher return on their existing software investment with PCI. OG&E and PCI will be working together to prepare for the upcoming SPP Integrated Marketplace through 2014.
“The energy software industry is constantly evolving, and we are very excited that OG&E has decided to continue to work with PCI,” said Jason Hebert, vice president of professional services and sales at PCI. “It demonstrates that PCI is a good software partner, and we continue to make the correct software investment decisions to keep our existing and potential clients happy.”
“OG&E went through a thorough process to review available Integrated Marketplace solutions from a variety of software providers,” said Daneta Pankratz Combs, OG&E I/T project manager. “Based on our team’s assessment, PCI was chosen because of their product functionality as well as OG&E’s previous familiarity with PCI products. By partnering with PCI, OG&E will benefit from PCI’s knowledge in multiple markets and the possibility of using other PCI products to benefit marketplace participation.”
