ISO Market Solutions

In an environment where more and more regions are moving towards establishing centralized ISO to handle the commitment and dispatch of units, it has become imperative to have better control and understanding of the ISO bidding process.

PCI is the market leader (measured by participant’s MWs) for ISO Bid-to-Bill participation solutions supporting the CAISO, ERCOT, ISONE, MISO, NYISO, PJM, and SPP markets using comprehensive bid-to-bill workflows.

PCI bid formulation is done with automation, based on pre-approved strategies including generation, load and deals. The calculated bids/offers are then evaluated and the awards predicted. Once the market is closed and awards are available, those are automatically downloaded and stored. PCI provides tools to analyze the awards and to enable on-course corrections in either next day’s market or a subsequent market.

Once the operating day has passed; PCI presettlements uses sophisticated algorithms to estimate non-shadowable charge codes together with, awards, prices and other shadow data  to have an early view of the ISO’s charges. Presettlement can be used to close the books at month end (numbers will be true-d up when the invoice and meter data becomes available), or the data can be exported to the PCI Data Warehouse, where a number of pre-defined BI Analyzers are available to study Profit and Loss, Margins or Settlement charges for the benefit of either the front office, back office or both.

Using ISO Bid-to-Bill Solutions together with Deal Management Solutions, it is possible to create intra-ISO Solutions that allows a user to trade in one ISO, schedule it to another ISO and then transact in that ISO. PCI handles all the aspects; bidding, awards, export, tagging, reservations, import, as well as the ISO and bilateral settlements in one organically grown, configurable and open system.
